After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Dr. Ehrnstrom attended medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. He completed his medical internship in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and his dermatology residency at Yale University, where he developed advanced expertise in dermatologic care and surgical treatment.
Dr. Ehrnstrom later served nearly nine years at Elmendorf Air Force Base, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, he founded Alaska Center for Dermatology in 2003, bringing advanced dermatologic and surgical care to patients across the region.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ehrnstrom is actively involved in several leading professional organizations. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and a member of the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the Alaska State Medical Association, and the Dermatology Foundation Annenberg Society. He is also qualified in telemedicine and in the design of telehealth programs, helping expand access to dermatologic care for patients in remote communities.
